Well, each season my gardening improves but I didn't know my gardening would improve my parenting. This time life got away from me and I let the weeds overtake the garden so the other day Parker & I were in the garden weeding. It was quiet and I believe the Lord spoke to me and I spoke to Parker. We talked about how weeds can take root in a garden. First there are just a few and the more then you can't tell the food from weed! I asked here did she know what this garden reminded me of? I told her that this is what happens when sin gets into our lives! First you have one 'little sin' and before you know it we can't find any God! Her eyes were so wide.
These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Duet 6:6-8
I really encourage everyone to spend some quiet time with the kiddos and let God speak through you to their hearts. I pray that every day & moment of parenting will resemble our 30 minutes in the garden.

What a beautiful story! I echo your prayer for me and my daughter.
Amen!
Weeding the gardens always reminds me of verses from the Bible. It always makes me very introspective... some of the biggest, ugliest weeds have shallow roots, while some of the smaller, almost pretty weeds can have some deep, stubborn roots!
