Wherever we go

Okay, I am not known for just loving music or collecting cd's or anything like that...I like music and sing along with the songs. But rarely do I feel the urge to buy a CD (1 in 3 years!) but when I heard this song I knew I was listening to my families anthem! I hope we always live the words of this song as we live our joy in the Lord. Who would'nt want the party to be wherever they are! Take a minute to read this song and the next time it comes on go ahead and get down and get holy!

Newsboys: Wherever We go
From the album Go

Wherever we go,
bluebirds singAnd the flowers bloom
And the grass gets green
It’s a curious thing
But it’s just our thing

Wherever we go, the bees behave
In the treetops, squirrels smile and wave
It’s a curious thing
And it’s humbling

Where we go, little glow-worms glow
Little roadrunners run ahead
Gonna tell their friends
Little mice, little men
Get ‘em all excited
All invited

Chorus:Hands up
Holler back here
Let’s throw this party in gear
We brought the welcome mat
Wherever we go,
that’s where the party’s at
Hands upHoller back now
We don’t claim any know-how
We’re giving God all that
Wherever we go, that’s where the party’s at

Wherever we go, the dumb get wise
And the crime rates drop
And the markets rise
It’s a curious thing
But it’s just our thing

Bullies make nice, crooks repent
And the ozone layer shows improvement
It’s a curious thing
And it’s humbling

Wherever we’re led All the Living Dead
Wanna leave their Zombie Mob
It’s a touching scene when they all come clean
God help us, we just love our job

Chorus

Happy 8th Birthday Justin

Happy 8th Birthday Justin!!!!

Little did I know 5 years ago when I went to your 3rd birthday party that you would become such an important part of my life. I can definitely say that I never thought I'd have a little red head son as one of the 4 lights of my life! Who knew you could keep someones kid for a week and cry because they wanted him back. Who knew that my sweet Peyton would tell the world her brother is...Justin. Or that Parker would proclaim Justin was the most wonderful boy in the world! Who knew I could suck it up and tell "the boy" (his nick name...what do you want we call the baby, "Big Baby" I'm not that creative) I was so proud he found some frogs, lizards, crickets, worms without screaming or running away.....I definitely did not know that 3 and 1/2 years later his family would move into my house (for 3 weeks) to take care of my family so I could go to Texas Children's in Houston with our new little preemie. Who knew that our families would become so intertwined.
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jer. 29:11
But they do not know the thoughts of the LORD; they do not understand his plan, he who gathers them like sheaves to the threshing floor. Micah 4:12
Friends that are family (A friend loves at all times...Proverbs 17:17a) it's a wonderful thing! So Happy Birthday Justin and thank you God for your plan, your mighty and wonderful plans!
Justin we love you!

Daddy's Home or Wise use of 1600 sq ft

Well Daddy's home from traveling and we are all so excited! When he got home at 10:45 with Sonic treats the girls piled on him and I was sitting next to him on the smallest couch we have in the house. The baby refused to go to anyone else and she would not stop talking once she was on his lap (nahhya, ow, ow, ow, meow, hooohoo...so cute) This was really the best use of 1600 square feet. I hope everyone uses the spaces in their home wisely too!

Worship like Pearson Eats

Well, last week I was sitting and listening to Butch's sermon and I just got stuck on that verse from Romans 12:2 (I like to look before and after a verse also): "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual[a] act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. ". Then I was watching Pearson eat and started to think about how that is how I want to conform my life. I want my walk with Christ to look like Big baby eating! When she is eating we all know she is eating, when she wants her food everyone know she's hungry(for goodness sake she's hollering for it) when she is done eating its all over her. You can see what she ate, smell what she ate and you can touch it because she is wearing it! I want my life to drip with God just like that! When someone sees me coming I want them to look at me and know I love God! Just like everyone knows Pearson loves her food! I'm not there yet but that is how I want to finish my race and testify to God with food all over my face! Thanks little Pearson I knew you were going to be a Godly gal!

Science Fair

Tonight we went to the homeschool Science Fair. It was great fun to see all of the kid's projects and to participate. Peyton won 2nd place and did a project to see what kind of liquid prevented bananas from browning. Boy, oh boy did she learn alot: Enzymes, Proper Nouns, comma placement, Ph, fruits that brown.... But the best thing about the Science Fair was that Peyton had the biggest cheering section! The Maass's, Ashley (TAMU 06), Halei (TAMU 09ish) and mom, Dad and sisters! Even though with autism she is isolated from the other kids they do not always 'get' her, and some are mean to her. On top of that she has a hard time relating, speaking and hearing. She has lots of people who love her and support her. But perhaps the best thing was that Dad is home from Ohio and keeping his promise to play Bumperena with the girls Thursday night! I'm sure he'd love to go to sleep but he told his girls when he left to go to Ohio we will play Bumperna on Thursday night when I get home! So congratulations Peyton on winning 2nd place in the Science Fair and 1st place in Family and Friends!!!

The Spirit of the McVays

The thing about our family that is unusual is the sheer number of serious illness that we have! My kids have baby dolls that need asthma treatments and get the blood sugar checked regularly! I'm surprised they haven't limited the baby dolls peanut in take and that no doll as of yet has to use her epi pen! Of course their dolls get their insulin shots when needed. So today I decided to look for some verses on Biblegateway and this is one that I found: Proverbs 18:14 "A man's spirit sustains him in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?" I can say that the spirits in our house are high so we have no complaints. Though I am aware of (asthma, diabetes, serious allergic reaction to unknown bug epipen kid, former peanut allergy, hearing, vision, autism...I may be missing some) but it's not at the forefront of my mind or theirs. What a blessing! This week we've been battling Big Baby's illness she's been sick since Friday (5 days) complete with Asthma attacks the doctor is putting her on steroids to help her wheezing. Last night Parker woke me up with a croup cough & crying (poor baby). So she got nebulized and chunked into my bed, then I figured since Parker was already in bed I might as well go get Peyton. Although I felt bad for poor Parker with her croup cough how wonderful it was to have a little sleep over with the girls! So our spirit is sustaining us and we are being renewed day by day...So the next time you ask me how the kids are ask me twice...I'm not trying to be strong it's just God does not let me keep this stuff on front burner!
So here’s to savoring every moment with your little ones to His Glory!

Okay , I get it I totally lack patience. But God is working on me and what better way to do that than with an Autistic child! So after at least 1 hour of blood curdling screaming (because she did not like her punishment for disobedience- 1 hour is a vacation because she's been known to go for over 2 hours! Great pair of lungs that kid has. God gave me a little surprise the two little ones sitting and playing nicely in our library book basket. ...Sometimes we get renewed moment by moment! .......And on the Peyton Pooh super cute side she named her dolly "Chelsea" . She always names her doll after someone she really loves. So Chelsea has earned a s special place in her heart.

apron evangelism

Today we are putting away all of Christmas decorations and cleaning the house. (Last night we took Dad (Wayne) to the Emergency Room so due to the lateness of the night we are sticking close to home today.)One of the things we really work on is keeping the girls busy. We have a lot of reasons for this but the main reason is 1 Timothy 5:13 which in the Kyle translations states idle women gossip and get into trouble and so do idle little girls! (Here's the NIV "Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things they ought not to." 1Timothy 5:13) Other reason is Titus 2:3-5 (3Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Titus 2:3-5). Now this is not an "all work and no play house" but we really do try to make sure they are playing constructively or working constructively. Ultimately these little bitty ladies will marry and run their own households. My constant prayer for them is that they be a blessing to their husbands and their children. I've had to learn all of these things as an adult we hope to spare the girls of the many things we've had to learn the hard way. I praise God that we came to him and that his instruction book lets us know how to raise these children in which he's entrusted to us.
