This curriculum combines Textbooks & Charlotte Mason style learning. An old fashioned Education provides loads of free stuff and most of their books are attainable at the library. I have used individual books from this curriculum but never the whole curriculum. For instance right now we are reading a book called About the Night Folks (nocturnal animals) & we will continue reading the books in this series because they are excellent & educational.

The final Curriculum is Tanglewood which is a combination of Classical & Charlotte Mason Education. I also use some of the books on this list but the main thing I have used from these people is their core book. It is an awesome lesson planner for the Classical or CM teacher. I hope you have a chance to explore these sites and consider some of the free things homeschooling has to offer.
These options will all provide a wonderful education for your little ones and will keep some money in your pockets so you can afford a few field trips and vacations along the way.

I recently read a post on a homeschool forum where the poster talked about how homeschoolers HAVE to spend quite a bit of money each year in order to provide their children with a quality education. Thankfully, she was set straight by other homeschool families. Homeschooling on the cheap requires a bit of effort to find free/cheap curriculum, but that's okay. Cost does not always equal quality.
We're using this free American History curriculum this year; there is also a free science curriculum available too.
