The Spirit of the McVays


The thing about our family that is unusual is the sheer number of serious illness that we have! My kids have baby dolls that need asthma treatments and get the blood sugar checked regularly! I'm surprised they haven't limited the baby dolls peanut in take and that no doll as of yet has to use her epi pen! Of course their dolls get their insulin shots when needed. So today I decided to look for some verses on Biblegateway and this is one that I found: Proverbs 18:14 "A man's spirit sustains him in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?" I can say that the spirits in our house are high so we have no complaints. Though I am aware of (asthma, diabetes, serious allergic reaction to unknown bug epipen kid, former peanut allergy, hearing, vision, autism...I may be missing some) but it's not at the forefront of my mind or theirs. What a blessing! This week we've been battling Big Baby's illness she's been sick since Friday (5 days) complete with Asthma attacks the doctor is putting her on steroids to help her wheezing. Last night Parker woke me up with a croup cough & crying (poor baby). So she got nebulized and chunked into my bed, then I figured since Parker was already in bed I might as well go get Peyton. Although I felt bad for poor Parker with her croup cough how wonderful it was to have a little sleep over with the girls! So our spirit is sustaining us and we are being renewed day by day...So the next time you ask me how the kids are ask me twice...I'm not trying to be strong it's just God does not let me keep this stuff on front burner!

Poor Parker!! But a sleepover does sound pretty fun! I should have stayed longer and maybe I could have had some sleepover action too!!!
