Our Favorite Books: Ox-Cart Man

This book provides a wonderful and simple summary of what seasonal farming life was like back in the 17-1800's I would guess. My kids love to hear this story again and again and there are always lots of questions about why he did this that or the other thing. Additionally, after reading Farmer Boy the kids often refer to it as we read the Ox-Cart Man. There is absolutely nothing objectionable in this book for even the most conservative family to raise an eyebrow at. We give this book 14 big thumbs up! This book is a part of several book lists and a must have for a non-twaddle reading library.

What books does your family like? We'd love to know because we love to read a good book.

Blessings!
