Adoption

Well, since Heather listed us on her blog as a family that is adopting I feel compelled to let the world know about it! In thinking about our blog I do not think I have ever addressed the subject of adoption though I have definite thoughts and opinions on the matter!
The Bible says in James 1:27 that the "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." So it is a Biblical mandate to actively care for widows & orphans. Additionally, since its in the Bible we know God is at work here and we can join in just like Jesus did!
Personally, Wayne and I are Pro-Life and we felt that adoption was a way to move from neutral to actively fighting for the lives of the unborn. Some of you know just before we found out we were pregnant with Parker (after trying for 5 years) we had decided to adopt through Jen's Mom's agency in Houston (Which is funny because we did not know Jenn at the time). But with the coming of Parker and then Pearson we've been in a holding pattern. Now, however, the Lord has made it clear that it is time to adopt. It appears however that we will be adopting through a local agency that provides rescue adoptions instead of with Jenn's Mom.
Right now we are still filling out paperwork but we are ready to take classes this summer. So hopefully as soon as our paperwork is done we will be open for an adopting our boy(s)...

Praise the Lord!!!

We are in the process of being licensed to foster and then possibly adopt as well. I love, love, love hearing others hearts for this ministry- there is no denying it, this is what we as the body are supposed to be doing! I can't wait to see what the Lord does in the coming months! Yay!

Oh yah, and after Brock and I saw y'all listed on the Hendricks blog we were always wondering. We were like, "They haven't already adopted have they? There is NO WAY! Those beautiful girls look identical!" Lol. So, thanks for the update! :)
