Our favorite books: The Napping House

The Napping house is a book that Sweetie fell in love with when she was in Public School 1st grade. Then it was given to us by our sweet friend Sydney nearly 7 years ago.  It's about a house full of sleeping people and animals and how they all wake up suddenly. Its a very sweet book. Additionally, it will expand your children's vocabulary and you will find they are no longer sleeping instead they are dozing, snoring, slumbering etc.... We try to avoid books that are well as Charlotte Mason would say twaddle (** Twaddle is idle, trivial chatter, or witless drivel that tries to talk down to a child. the definition is from Amblesideonline ) in favor of well written books that will expand our kiddos minds & vocabularies. Napping house is not on the AO list but it is still one of our favorite books!

Not much is left of the book now we are missing the last few pages and the back of it. In fact it's probably going to become our first framed book cover for the homeschool room. I hope your family enjoys this picture book as much as we do. Please let me know what picture books your family loves!
