Life Changes, Homeschool Changes... Part 3 detailing the changes

So here is the original post that announced our curriculum for the 2010-2011 school year. It was written a month or so before the arrival of the twins. I will put all of my notes and changes in blue and I underlined all the Christian Liberty Press Curriculum so you can laugh and cry along side with me. The main thing you will notice is that we added several books from Christian Liberty Press.   

Why did we chose Christian Liberty Press?

1. They are written by a Christian Curriculum Company.
2. My Father's World uses Christian Liberty Press books in their unit study so we had become familiar with them using their unit study. We really enjoyed the portions of the book Pioneers and Patriots that we read. So I knew we liked their history books. 
3. It is an inexpensive curriculum that I know is easy to use.

  All of the children:

• All of the children (in kindergarten on up) will take piano lessons.
• Since everyone is studying American history we will be reading the following Sonlight books  The Witch of Blackbird Pond (about a woman accused of being a witch), Cameron Townsend, Adventures of Missionary Heroism, Across five Aprils, Mr Revere and I, Justin Morgan had a Horse, Defeat of the Ghost Riders (Christian Heroes)

We will complete pieces of MFW Kindergarten however we have decided to simply include Sugar Pie in our current unit study instead of trying to complete two unit studies. So here is what she will do from MFW -K

Everyone does Unit Study

 

 We will use My Father's World Exploring Countries and Cultures this year! "Raising up generations of families who see the world through God's Eyes and live according to that knowledge" MFW covers the following subjects: Science, Geography, International Cultures, Bible, Music, Art. Unit study will be modified for Sugar Pie (K)...she will do color sheets and sit in for all activities.

 

During the year the girls also participate in Upwards Sports. We are considering a Spanish class  doing the Learnables (computer) Spanish at home for the two youngest but nothing is firm.
