Our first Piano Recital

I will sing to the LORD, I will sing; I will make music to the LORD, the God of Israel.
Judges 5:3

Well, as I mentioned in an earlier post the girls have started taking piano lessons. Since our teacher is not a part of the local association at the end of the year I was looking for a recital in which to participate. My friend Allyson's mother is a piano teacher and we were invited to participate in her recital.
Peyton playing Mary Had a Little Lamb.

Parker played Rain, Rain, go away.

I learned several things at this recital taught me is that music is more complicated then I thought it was. That their study of music can be much richer if they understand music theory. We are studying music as a way to glorify God and to prepare the girls for a life of service (as lay women, missionaries or pastors wives often have to play along side their husbands).

And as soon as we finished and thanked everyone for letting us play we rushed off to the Awana's ceremony.
