Introducing Grammar to Small Children in a Charlotte Mason kind of way

I found these books while reading posts from the CM Blog carnival at the Trivium Academy. I have now checked these books out to review them prior to purchasing them for next year (and finding out I wasted my money). I am so pleased to say that these are great to introduce the ideas of grammar to K-1st grade students. These are picture books that you read to the kids point out the particular thing you are working on in the book to the child. Then I would continue to point out 'nouns', 'verbs' etc... for the rest of the year. The idea is that in 2nd grade when they start Primary Language Lessons the terms will not be unfamiliar to them. They will be old friends.... Check it out if you want a gentle and interesting introduction to grammar. Additionally, I think you could also use these books to supplement any elementary curriculum but after 1st grade (when grammar is not normally taught) to me these books really are just supplemental.

I've got a few of those grammar books on my shelf, I love them! When I taught middle school, I left them on the chalk tray for kids to browse through when they were done with their work. Such a simple way to get grammar concepts across!
