Diaper Rash Treatment: Baking Soda (More Natural Cures like Gentian Violet)

I was reminded by a sweet Mom that all of you new Mama's out there might not be aware of 2 natural treatments for diaper rash. The first is Gentian Violet (Beware it stains everything!) as discussed in a previous here to see that post. The other is baking soda. You can soak little one's in a lukewarm bath with baking soda. This will help the rash heal much faster and they really enjoy the temporary relief.

You add about 2T of baking soda to the lukewarm tub water, add some toys, get a book (preferably before the wee one is in the tub) and let them soak. Here is link to Texas Children's hospital regarding this treatment and diaper rash in general!

The best thing we've ever tried from the USA is Boudreaux's Butt Paste, it's miraculous on nappy rash, I really recommend it :)

Wait! Don't forget Crisco!
That's what we use and recommend.
It's pretty darn cheap, and nothing coats and seals a bottom like Crisco.
