I thought

So on Sunday afternoon after the sermon Kim and I were getting my boxes out of the neighbors garage. (Because when you are selling your house it should look like no one lives in it!) And the kids were biking and playing in the cul-de-sac and an 'issue' occurred. So I called Parker to come over and discuss the matter with me. She decided that she was not coming to me and she was going to continue to ride her bike. (Yes, I'm sure she heard me.) Well, that course of action was a mistake. As we quickly got back home and into her room after discipline was applied.... I asked her why did she decide to 'not obey me?' She looked up at me and said....."I thought...."
I had just seen the skit and I could not believe that God was already so clearly talking to me through this child. I totally lost my train of thought and grasped at old reliable Eph 6:1: and informed her you do not need to think the Bible has already told you what you need to do which is to obey your parents unto the Lord.
It's the little things that amaze me...I am still in awe....God is good and our skit team is faithful!

The Star Fork

At our house we have a star fork. One day Peyton declared the star fork to be her favorite and suddenly it was the most special fork ever created! Well, Parker's job is to hand out the silverware at meal times so she always made sure she had the star fork. Accordingly, the girls argued over it and demanded to use it. I plotted its sudden disappearance of this major irritant. When suddenly God gave me a new vision so I suggested to Parker that she giving her sister the star fork would be kind. She said cheerfully :"Okay Mama!" and then she did not give her the fork not for weeks. I again began to plot its sudden disappearance into the garbage can...when suddenly she gave her sister the fork. For no reason other than her sister wanted it! Then when Justin came over they gave him the fork because he is their brother and they do not have a star fork at their house. I almost missed this little opportunity because my irritation with the arguing was outweighing the opportunity to teach a Biblical lesson. I always wanted one of those wonderful "Your Special" type red plates but God has given us a star fork and made it special.
Philippians 2:3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
P.S. - Please pray our house is under contract...we will be homeless or at least really living off the land!

Yes Lord, Yes Lord, Yes Lord, Yes...Amen!

Wayne is having a tough week at work and I would appreciate it if everyone could pray for him. He has moved a department down from Ohio and it is 5-10x the size of his department. It has been a very difficult and arduous task! Pray also for his diabetes because stress has a negative effect on diabetes!

You know Living Hope Baptist Church is so wonderful. Its so neat to sit in sermon after sermon and have the words penetrate your heart. To read the Bible and to experience the richness of scripture and to see how things are interwoven. What a blessing it was to me personally to have Butch point out Psalm 27. I think my family will memorize it this summer (I'll have to put it on the calendar in June to do or I'll forget...that's why I never take my head off of my shoulders!). Psalm 27
Of David. 1 The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, [a] when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.
3 Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.
4 One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.
6 Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.
7 Hear my voice when I call, O LORD; be merciful to me and answer me.
8 My heart says of you, "Seek his [b] face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek.
9 Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, O God my Savior.
10 Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.
11 Teach me your way, O LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.
12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence.
13 I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
We are afraid of so much, at least I have been. I was afraid today but today I will read my psalm and start tucking it into my heart. Because He who is in me is greater!
And as the song goes.....Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Lord,Yes Lord, Yes Amen

Diabetes Update

I like to keep my "little mascot" close to my heart! Wayne is worried I may be in love with this smashing little heart breaker....
Anyways, here is the diabetic update...I am currently concentrating on drinking at least 8 cups of water a day and limiting my caffeine intake to two cups of coffee during the week and extra cup on Sundays!
I am avoiding eating after 8 p.m. because I think it has an adverse effect on my morning fasting blood sugar.
I started jogging again and will start playing soccer either this weekend or next. It depends when the game is since the games are on Sundays sometimes I am unable to play. (Due to little things like CHURCH!) Dear Mrs Supercinski has offered to watch my wee ones on days when Wayne & My schedule are clashing. Hopefully, that will just be the 3 rd week of the month so we are not an imposition.
I've only lost 3lbs so far but I am started first place today! So I am hoping for 2-3lb a week loss from here forward. Please pray for me to continue.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.2Cor4:16

Homeschool Field Trip

On Thursday we went to the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston to see the Masterpieces of French Painting exhibit from the NY Met! It was wonderful and I highly recommend it to everyone. Prepare your children to keep some distance between themselves and the pictures remind them there is not running, stomping (the rooms echo) etc... and go! go! go!
During most of our 2 hour tour (during which the kids did not complain until we were in the last 5 minutes of the tour) we practically had our own docents following us around we even managed to get one to jump accorss a painting while yelling no much like that scene in the Body Gaurd with Whitney Houston. I think the Red headed boy and the 3 year old looked a little suspicious!
Regardless, this was great and the kids got to see Monet, Manet, Pissaro, Van Gough, Gauguin and more!!!! There are some really cool Religious art pieces there also. At the end we each got a post card with our favorite paintings on them...except Pearson but I should have gotten her a picture with dogs she really liked the dogs! (The street scene is Parker's favorite by Pissaro and the Bridge is Peyton's favorite by Monet).

Help Wanted * No Pay * Great Hours

I wanted to be really funny like Heather...but my skills & time are lacking. So here is the deal-e-o I need help watching my kids so I can exercise. The Lord and the doctor are indicating I need to lose weight and exercise. Well my doctor didn't really say that he just laughed....

So my plan is to restart First Place eating plan but I MUST exercise. Wayne's current schedule is crazy and erratic I am sure in a few months it will return to the normal predictable schedule my Mr. Steady normally maintains. But for now I can not work out around his schedule.

I can come to your house to drop kids off, feel free to come to mine, Or we can meet at a park. If you can just cover 1 day a month that would be great!

Ideally I'd like to work out on Tuesday or Thursday....
Pearson naps from around 1:30 to about 4:00

But I have to work out at least 2-3 days a week. (I know I can work out Saturday mornings so that covers one day a week).

As the saying goes ...."Help a Sister out!"
